Autumn session of JK Assembly from Sept 21: LG summons House; House panels meetings suspended
The autumn session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will commence on September 21, 2026, with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha summoning the House to meet at 10:00 AM in Srinagar.
In an official bulletin released by the Assembly Secretariat, the Lieutenant Governor’s order stated:
“I, Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me under Section 18(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, do hereby summon the Legislative Assembly for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to meet at Srinagar on Monday, the 21st of September, 2026 at 10:00 AM.”
Submission Deadlines for Members
- August 25, 2026: Deadline for MLAs to submit up to 4 starred questions, 4 unstarred questions, and 1 bill.
- September 5, 2026: Deadline for members to submit up to 2 resolutions.
Committee Work Suspended: The Legislative Assembly Secretariat has further ordered that all meetings and proceedings of the Financial and other House Committees shall remain suspended with effect from August 22, 2026, in view of the upcoming session.
