SRINAGAR: Underscoring that real progress is measured exclusively by tangible improvements in citizens’ daily lives, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reiterated his administration’s commitment to building a resilient, fully equitable, and accessible healthcare ecosystem across Jammu and Kashmir.

Delivering the keynote address at the 3rd edition of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Jammu & Kashmir Health Conclave, LG Sinha shared an ambitious developmental vision for the Union Territory’s medical landscape.

The Lieutenant Governor stressed that state-of-the-art medical treatment and advanced infrastructure must be democratized to reinforce the foundational pillars of social justice and parity. He noted that the physical and financial health of every family directly determines the productivity, opportunity, and collective prosperity of the entire region.

LG Sinha introduced the progressive paradigm of “Health Services Anytime, Anywhere,” calling on healthcare leaders and innovators to turn Jammu and Kashmir into a premier proving ground for high-impact, affordable medical solutions. He highlighted practical applications such as solar-powered cold chain storage for high-altitude clinics and drone-assisted logistics for rapid delivery of emergency medicines.

Highlighting the frontline achievements of grassroots healthcare workers, the Lieutenant Governor cited how ASHA workers leverage digital tele-consultation channels to connect remote village patients directly with specialized doctors at district hospitals, effectively neutralizing difficult terrain and travel barriers.

Mitigating Healthcare Costs Through Preventative Care

Addressing the escalating cost of medical treatment globally, the LG called for a systemic shift from merely managing illnesses to proactively safeguarding public health. He urged an immediate transition toward systematic screening, early diagnostic interventions, and reliable primary health coverage to substantially lower financial burdens on households.

In addition to preventive measures, he emphasized the critical need to bolster clinical education, expand nursing capacity, and provide comprehensive mental health and institutional support to healthcare professionals to reduce workplace burnout.
