SRINAGAR: An inbound IndiGo passenger flight arriving from Navi Mumbai scraped against a ground guidance pole while maneuvering into its designated parking apron at Srinagar International Airport on Friday morning. Aviation officials confirmed that all travelers and crew members remained entirely unhurt.

The aircraft, operating flight 6E 225 (registration VT-NOG), touched down in the summer capital before taxiing toward Bay Number 06. At approximately 09:02 AM, during the terminal positioning sequence, the airframe came into contact with a Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) pole.

Ground response teams acted promptly to secure the perimeter and assist passengers. Conventional stepped airstairs were brought to the aircraft, enabling everyone on board to deplane systematically and proceed to the arrivals lounge.

An official statement released regarding the event emphasized that oversight bodies have launched a standard procedural evaluation to review the exact sequence of movements on the tarmac: “The details and circumstances leading to the incident will be examined by the appropriate authorities as per the prescribed procedures. The exact cause will be ascertained following the completion of the inquiry, and no conclusion regarding the cause is being drawn at this stage.”

Airport administration reassured travelers that general flight schedules at Srinagar remained stable and fully operational throughout the day, with both domestic arrivals and departures continuing without delays or diversion.
